Dhaka, Aug 30 (bdnews24.com) – Newly appointed Inspector General of Police Hassan Mahmood Khandker, who was the director general of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), will take over on Tuesday.
Officials at the Police Headquarters told bdnews24.com that former police chief Nur Mohammad will hand over responsibilities to him at 11am.
They also said all the formalities have been completed for the handover ceremony.
Khandker was appointed on Monday, when Mohammad was withdrawn to the foreign ministry for his appointment as an ambassador.
The same day, the police's deputy inspector general of Rajshahi Range Mokhlesur Rahman was appointed as the new RAB chief.
