An official club statement is expected on Monday evening (Bangladesh time).

Van Gaal arrived at the club's training ground in the morning and reports said a statement would be made at 6pm BdST but United did not confirm that plan and the time passed without an announcement, Reuters reported.

The BBC, however, confirmed the sack of the Dutchman.
Jose Mourinho, sacked by Chelsea in December after his second spell in charge of the west London club, will take over at United, according to the reports, even though Van Gaal has a year left on his contract.
Having finished fifth in the Premier League this season, Van Gaal guided United to a 2-1 extra-time win over Crystal Palace at Wembley on Saturday.
