PM attends reception by Queen Elizabeth

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday evening attended the special reception by Queen Elizabeth II and Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace before the Olympic Games 2012 opening ceremony.

London, Jul 28 (bdnews24.com) — Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday evening attended the special reception by Queen Elizabeth II and Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace before the Olympic Games 2012 opening ceremony.

US First Lady Michelle Obama, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, IOC President Jacques Rogge also attended the reception among others.

Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed was also present at the function.

Later, Sheikh Hasina attended the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games 2012 at the Olympic Stadium here.

Sajeed Wazed, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar and officials of the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) were also present at the spectacular opening ceremony of the 30th edition of the Summer Olympics.

The Prime Minister is now in London on a five-day official visit to attend the opening ceremony of the 30th Summer Olympics.
