The prime minister ordered their construction at the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting on Thursday, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said.

Kamal said at a media conference after the meeting that Hasina gave the direction during a discussion on a health sector project.

Hasina advised the use of Mitford Hospital land on the other side of the Burhiganga River.

“We can build two 20-storied buildings on both sides of the river and connect them with a bridge,” Kamal said.
The prime minister stressed the British-era building of DMCH should be kept intact while constructing the new one, he said.
