Jhangirnagar University has suspended three members of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over the assault of bdnews24.com Correspondent Shafiqul Islam.

A committee of five members was also formed to investigate the incident in an emergency meeting of the Syndicate on Monday, Registrar Abu Bakr Siddique said.
The suspended students are BCL JU unit Religious Affairs Secretary Mohitosh Roy Tito, Assistant Secretary Ikram Uddin and member Ikram Nahid, all residents of Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall.
bdnews24.com’s Jahangirnagar University Correspondent Shafiqul was injured in an attack allegedly by a group of BCL activists led by Tito on June 8 when Shafiqul protested against the beating of a boy.
Shafiqul was hit on the head and back with iron rods.
