Dhaka University English department’s alumni reunion Friday
Thousands of former students of Dhaka University’s English department will meet for their annual get-together at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) at 3:30pm on Friday.

President of English Department Alumni Society (EDAS) Wazir Sattar told bdnews24.com that former students, who include several ministers as well as celebrated personalities, were expected to attend the reunion.
There would be cultural programme, reminiscences about the good old days by former students and refreshments for the guests, Sattar said.
The English department was established on Jan 27, 1921, the very day the university was established.
The get-together will be taking place three days after the founding anniversary.
The Alumni Society was formed in December 1986.
The society offers scholarship and awards to the deserving students of the department. Names of the recipients are announced on the last Friday of January, coinciding with the reunion ceremony.
