It published the Q2 results on Thursday.

The increase in revenue was mainly driven by continued increases in voice revenue, primarily as a result of traffic growth, coupled with a 60 percent increase in data revenue, the operator said in a media release.

The number of Banglalink data users grew by 6 percent in this period.

Data usage increased 178 percent, supported by 3G coverage and smartphone penetration.
"The main operational focus during the quarter was the ongoing SIM verification program," the release said.
"This verification initiative will also provide a solid and secure customer base to develop new revenue from mobile financial services as part of our digital strategy," it added.
The operator now serves over 30 million customers, according to the release.
