Bangladesh Jewellers' Association on Saturday said the decision to hike gold prices by up to Tk 1,225 per bhori (11.664 gm) would be effective from Sunday.
“The global prices are going up daily. Hence, we have revised it,” the association’s General Secretary Enamul Haque told bdnews24.com.
He said they might have to opt for further revision if the upward trend in international gold prices were to persist.
A week ago, on Jun 18, jewellers hiked gold prices by Tk 1,225 per bhori after several rises and drops in the past one year.
