Grameenphone presenting subscribers smartphones for biometric re-registration

Grameenphone has launched a mobile gift offer to encourage its customers who have not re-registered their SIM cards with biometric details.

The operator is offering an Okapia smartphone for the first customer to re-register after every 20th minute of every hour from 10am to 8pm until May 31, it said in a media release on Sunday.

The winners will be informed through SMS and need to collect the gift within July 15.

Besides the gift offer, Grameenphone is offering Tk 200 of talk-time for every customer who re-registers within May 27, the release said.

The carrier has arranged 50,000 points for the biometric re-registration throughout Bangladesh.

The subscribers have been asked to bring a copy of National Identity Card, a passport-size photo and the unregistered SIM card for re-registration.

The extended deadline for biometric re-registration of SIM cards ends on May

31. The biometrically unregistered numbers will be blocked on June 1.
