This time, the prices of all categories of gold have been uniformly raised by Tk 1,225 a ‘bhori’ (11.66gm).
Silver prices have shot up by Tk 58 per bhori.
The new prices will take effect from Saturday, the Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BJS) has said in a press release.
The local prices have been matched with rising international prices of gold, BJS General Secretary Emanul Haq Khan told bdnews24.com.
The BJS executive committee unanimously endorsed the hike at its meeting on Thursday.
The new gold prices (per 11.66gm) are:
22 carat – Tk 43,740
21 carat – Tk 41,640
18 carat – Tk 34,992
Traditional gold – Tk 23,911

21 carat (cadmium) silver: Tk 991
