The FBCCI gave out the call in a media release on Thursday, saying an investment and business-friendly environment is prevailing in the country.
Foreign entrepreneurs had expressed interest to invest in Bangladesh, the top trade body pointed out adding the general strikes would hurt the country’s image.

A coalition of Islamist groups called a daylong countrywide shutdown as their demand to arrest former minister Abdul Latif Siddique was not met.

Siddique has already been dropped from the Cabinet and removed from the Awami League’s policymaking Presidium over his anti-Hajj comments made at a programme in New York on Sept 28.

The Awami League has also asked him to explain why he should not be permanently expelled from the party.

He has been implicated in a number of cases over his remarks. Several arrest warrants have been issued for him.

The FBCCI hoped the government would take necessary legal actions against Siddique once he returned home and urged the parties to withdraw their strike.
