Khagrachharhi, May 09 (bdnews24.com)—The Dhaka University teacher, Nur Uddin Alo, believed to have been kidnapped on Tuesday, was found at Khagrachharhi on Wednesday.
According to police, the political science department lecturer turned up at Dighinala Police Station in the hill district at around 1:30pm and fainted moments later.
"We identified him as the missing Dhaka University teacher Nur Uddin by the identity card found on him," said Officer-In-Charge Shahadat Hossain.
The police officer said the teacher was taken to the Upazila health complex.
Later, the teacher was sent to the government hospital at Khagrachhari town for better treatment, said a doctor of the health complex, Shubal Jyoti Chakma.
A student of the department, Enamul Haque, filed a general diary (GD) at the Shahbagh Police Station on Tuesday evening claiming that the teacher had been abducted.
Enamul said he decided to file the GD after receiving an SMS from the teacher stating that he had been kidnapped.
University proctor Amzad Ali had told bdnews24.com after the GD was filed that a student had informed them about the kidnapping.
