It wants the road to be called 'Jessore Road’ within seven working days.
The road is currently named after Muslim league leader Khan A Sabur who collaborated with the Pakistanis in 1971.
The High Court had passed an order to this effect in August.
But the road's name is yet to be changed.
When the High Court's attention was drawn to a newspaper report on the issue, the bench of justices Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman gave an order on Tuesday that the road should get its old name 'Jessore Road' within a week.
The Khulna City mayor has been asked to submit an 'action taken' report on the issue within seven days.
The bench also told the Islamic University to inform the court in an affidavit whether its earlier order to change the name of the university's auditorium has been carried out.
The plaintiff’s lawyer said the matter would be included in the court’s cause list on Nov 9.
The auditorium was named after Shah Azizur Rahman, another politician who collaborated with the Pakistan in 1971 but later became the country's prime minister during Gen Ziaur Rahman's regime.
