Bangladesh to host first-ever Asian Foreign Service Conference next year
The newly elected executive committee of BCS Foreign Affairs Association (BFAA) in Bangladesh has decided to organise first-ever ‘Asian Foreign Service Conference’ in Dhaka early next year.

They will collaborate with similar associations in other countries of Asia for the conference to promote “deeper understanding” among the Asian diplomats through exchange of best practices, information and ideas, General Secretary Khorshed Khastagir said.
Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque is President of the association.
In its first meeting on Thursday, it also decided to “broaden and deepen” engagements of the association with other civil service and professional associations.
The committee congratulated Haque on his being re-elected a member of the UN-Committee on Migrant Workers (CMW) by securing the highest number of votes - 46 out of a maximum 51.
