DSCC Mayor Khokon hopes main Eid congregation will be trouble free

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon says there is no threat of sabotage or attack at the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr at the National Eidgah ground in Dhaka.

“Hopefully all of us will have a happy Eid together,” he said after inspecting the preparation at National Eidgah on Saturday.

“We are not fearing any kind of sabotage. Police have already assured everyone of the safety,” said the mayor.

He added that the Eidgah ground was ready for the main congregation.

Altogether, 89 thousand men and women will be able to join the Eid prayers there.

According to the Islamic Foundation, the main congregation will be held at 8:30am on the Eid day.

It would shift to the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 9am in case of inclement weather.

Two-hundred-and-thirty congregations in all, including the main one , will be held at different areas under the Dhaka South City Corporation on Eid day.
