The Met Office has said the intensity of rain would increase from Sunday.

The highest temperature in the country dropped slightly to 37 degrees Celsius from 37.7 degrees on the previous day.

The temperature in Dhaka on Friday was recorded at 35.4 degrees Celsius at 36.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Gusty wind swept the capital on Friday afternoon followed by patches of rain in many parts of the city.

Met office said one millimetre of rain recorded in the capital until 9pm.

bdnews24.com correspondents from Bogra and some other districts also reported that there was rain in their regions.

Meteorologist Bazlur Rashid told bdnews24.com that parts of Khulna and Barisal divisions and Faridpur,

Madaripur, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, and Pabna districts were still experiencing moderate heatwave.

A low-pressure system was now prevailing over the South-East Bay and adjacent areas which extended to the region of West Bengal. The low-pressure system might further deepen, he added.

The meteorologist said, "The country has been experiencing heatwave since May 17. The heat condition worsened as humidity in the air was high.”

Rahman said the northern region experienced some rains, though there was no rain in the midlands.

“Many parts of the country experienced rain on Friday, and there will be more rain from Sunday when the sultry condition will disappear,” he added.

The Met office in its bulletin for Saturday said there might be hailstorms in parts of the country along with the gusty wind.
