Three killed in two separate truck collisions

Three people have been killed and five others injured in two separate truck accidents in Tangail and Dinajpur.

Tangail accident

Two have been killed and three others injured after a truck rammed into another in Tangail.

The accident occurred in the Pekua area on the Gorhai-Shokhipur road early on Sunday morning, said Banshtoil Police Outpost SI Md Faisal Ahmed.

The deceased have been identified as truck driver Tara Miah, 47, who hailed from Manikganj and trader Delwar Hossain, 50, who hailed from Dhaka.

Police have yet to identify the injured.

A truck carrying onions from North Bengal to Shokhirpur rammed into another truck on the road, SI Faisal told bdnews24.com.

“Five, including the driver of the truck and a trader conducting business on the same vehicle, were injured in the accident.”

The two died when locals were transporting the victims to a nearby hospital, the SI said.

Dinajpur accident

A head on collision between two trucks in Dinajpur has led to the death of a driver’s assistant and the injury of the two drivers.

The accident occurred on the Parbatipur-Fulbarhi road in Parbatipur Upazila, said local police SI Abdul Hamid.

The deceased has been identified as 33-year old ‘Hanif’, who hails from Rajshahi’s Poba Upazila.

The injured have been taken to the Syedpur Upazila Medical Complex for treatment.

A truck carrying stone from Panchagarh to Rajshahi collided head-on with another carrying betel leaves in the opposite direction, SI Abdul Hamid told bdnews24.com. Three were injured in the accident.

“Hanif was in critical condition and was taken by locals to Parbatipur Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.”
