The Japanese embassy on Sunday said they would be invited to take part in the South Asian Federation of the Japanese University Alumni Association’s Japanese Language Speech Contest in Pakistan later this year.

The Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh and the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka organise this National Speech Contest in Japanese language every year “to encourage Japanese language learners to further excel in the language”.

Thirteen linguists reached the final round of this year’s contest from the applicants of nine language institutes.

Talukder, who loves Japanese animation, made a speech on how the Japanese characters mesmerised and motivated him to learn the language and culture.

Rasel, whose speech title was “Street Food”, introduced the audience to his unique experience on Dhaka’s street foods.
