The suspects were involved in an attempted robbery at the Badsha Rice Agency in Joynagar around 4am Friday, said RAB-12 Camp Commander Bina Rani Das.

Acting on a tip-off, the elite police unit raided the WAPDA Gate area where the gang of robbers was loading rice on two trucks from the agency.

“The suspects tried to flee in a truck. We chased after them and they entered Baraiparha village. Two of them died on spot. Another died after we took the injured to the hospital,” she said.

At noon, another of the unidentified men succumbed to his injuries, said Pabna Sadar police SI Arabindu Pal.

Four more were still undergoing treatment.
