Truck runs over police officer at Dhaka's Gulistan
A Dhaka Metropolitan Police officer has been killed when run over by a truck in Dhaka just past midnight.

Police said Assistant Sub Inspector Mizanur Rahman was run over by the vehicle around 12:45am on Thursday near the Bangabhaban at Dhaka's Gulistan.
The 45-year-old, who hailed from Munshiganj, was posted at the Paltan Police Station, his colleague Sub Inspector Md Selim said.
Rahman was on his way to the Bangabhaban, the presidential palace, from his Jatrabarhi home, when the truck ran over him.
The police officer was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.
The driver has been detained, police said.
