Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman was meeting his Bangladesh counterpart, Md Shahriar Alam, on Tuesday. They discussed a whole range issue relating to bilateral relations including countering violent extremism and employment of Bangladeshi workers in Singapore.

Alam termed Singapore as one of the "most important" trade and investment partners of Bangladesh.

He particularly appreciated Singapore’s investments in the power generation sector.
He sought more investments saying that the government was working "seriously" to build necessary infrastructures to ensure a business-friendly environment for the investors from around the world.
Dr Osman arrived in Dhaka Monday night and would leave on Wednesday evening.

He is also expected to meet the Prime Minister.
