Cooperate in the field of education, Bangladesh calls OIC member states

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has urged the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to cooperate “effectively” in the fields of education, science, technology and research.

He was speaking at the 43rd session of the OIC's Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held at Tashkent in Uzbekistan, the Bangladesh embassy said on Wednesday. Acting President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev inaugurated the session.

Nahid led the Bangladesh delegation as this year’s meeting themed on “Education and Enlightenment – path to peace and creativity”.

Bangladesh Ambassador in Tashkent Mosud Mannann, foreign ministry’s Director General of the international organisation wing AFM Gousal Azam Sarker, and Bangladesh’s Deputy Permanent Representative to OIC in Riyadh Nazrul Islam are the other members of the delegation.

Earlier, the education minister was received at Tashkent International Airport on Tuesday by Anvar Nasirov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan.
