Thirty-year-old Salahuddin Kamran, who, the police said is an operative of the 'Neo-JMB', has been arrested on Wednesday night from Gazipur's Tongi.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police said in its web portal 'DMP News' that Kamran was also close to militant Abu Hakim Naeem, who was killed in the Jul 26 raid at Dhaka's Kalyanpur.

"Kamran came to Dhaka in May this year after being radicalised and received training from militant Rakibul Hasan, who has been arrested recently," reads the report.

It said Kamran admitted during interrogation to have been involved in propaganda for the Neo JMB and in planning attacks.
