Kishoreganj Model Police Station Inspector Md Murshed Zaman said Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdus Salam Khan allowed Tanim’s DNA test on Wednesday.

He told bdnews24.com, “This is a routine process. Everything will be done for the sake of a healthy investigation. If necessary, he will be interrogated again.”

Earlier, Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Director Brigadier General Nasir Uddin Ahmed had said that blood and other samples of another captured ‘attacker’, Shariful Islam alias Shafiul Islam alias Saiful Islam, had been sent to Dhaka.

On July 7, a group of militants attacked a police check-post, within 250 metres from the country’s largest Eid-ul-Fitr prayer gathering, setting off explosions and killing two police personnel.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, a housewife was killed caught in the crossfire.

One of the attackers, Abir, was killed in the shootout while Jahidul and Shariful fell into police and RAB hands, respectively.

Three days later, on July 10, Pakundia Police Inspector (Investigations) Md Shamsuddin lodged a case with Kishoreganj Model Police Station against them under the Anti Terrorism Law.

Inspector Shamsuddin was the chief of the check-post that had come under attack.

Some other unknown persons have also been accused in the case.
