Bagerhat man gets life term for mother’s murder
A court in the southern district of Bagerhat has ordered life imprisonment for a man found guilty of murdering his mother.

In the verdict, delivered on Monday, the District and Sessions Judge’s Court found 30-year-old Faruk Sheikh guilty of the 2015 murder.
It also slapped a Tk 20,000 fine, failing to pay which will result in a six-month jail term.
Public Prosecutor Sheikh Mohammad Ali said on the afternoon of Jul 5, 2015, the convict hit on his mother Hasina Begum’s head with a stick over a family feud.
“The neighbours nabbed Faruk and handed him over to the police and rushed the mother to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead,” he told bdnews24.com.
