The incident took place at North Ibrahimpur around 3:30pm on Sunday, police and Fire Service officials said.

The two injured – Md Mohsin, 35, and his 12-year old son Md Miraz – have been admitted to the burns unit at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), its police outpost Inspector Mozammel Haque told bdnews24.com.

He said Mohsin suffered 24 percent burns and Miraz 27 percent.

Fire Service control room official Mahmudul Haque said the two were working in their teashop when a CNG-run three-wheeler stopped in front of it.

The gas cylinder of the auto-rickshaw burst a bit later, he said quoting witnesses.

Kafrul police Inspector Aslam Uddin said they rushed the two injured to DMCH right after the incident.
