Hasina meets Japanese PM Abe, Sri Lankan President Sirisena

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has held meetings with her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena.

Hasina, who is on a four-day visit to Japan, met the two leaders on Saturday after attending the G7 Outreach Meeting on Friday. 

Her meeting with Sri Lankan leader was held at 9am local time at the Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel.

Later she led the Bangladesh delegation in a meeting with a Japanese delegation led by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, said Bangladesh officials.

After the meetings, Hasina headed for the Japanese capital of Tokyo, where she inaugurated the Chancery Complex of the Bangladesh embassy.

On Sunday, the prime minister is scheduled for a breakfast meeting with leading Japanese businessmen and will give an interview to the state broadcaster NHK.

She is also expected to join a reception by the Bangladeshi community in Tokyo before  starting for Dhaka in the evening.
