Public Prosecutor Wazed Ali Khokon said Nur Hossain, at the court’s instruction, was allowed to sit on a chair and given water after the incident around 11am on Tuesday.

District and Sessions Judge Syed Enayet Hossain also ordered the jail authorities to arrange Hossain’s treatment.

The incident did not, however, hamper the recording of statements by five witnesses.

Plaintiff’s lawyer Md Shakhawat Hossain described Nur Hossain’s swooning as a ‘drama’.

Earlier, Hossain had allegedly threatened witnesses from the dock when he was produced in court.

City Corporation Councillor Nazrul Islam, advocate Chandan Kumar Sarkar and five others were abducted on Apr 27, 2014 from Lamaparha on the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road.

Three days later, their bodies were found in the Shitalakkhya River.

After investigation, police submitted chargesheets in two cases filed over the murders, accusing Nur Hossain and 34 others, including former RAB personnel, of murder.
