He says people with information about the chairman’s location will be rewarded
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed that the dead, ‘Moshiur’, 35, was the second-in-command of a gang of robbers known as ‘Monju Bahini’.
The shootout took place at the forest’s Chandpai Range around 8:30am, said Bagerhat-based RAB unit chief Faridul Alam.
He said a RAB team went to the spot on a tip-off that some ‘Moju Bahini’ members had gathered there. “The robbers then opened fire on the RAB men prompting them to retaliate. At one stage, the robbers fled and Moshiur’s body was recovered from the spot.”
Eleven locally made arms and 450 rounds of ammunition were found at the location, added the RAB official.
