Clash over Titas Gas contracts kills one, injures four in Mymensingh

A clash between Titas Gas contractors has left one person dead and four others seriously injured in Mymensingh.

The supporters of ‘Rony’ and his cousin ‘Bhuttu’, son of a former Union Parishad chairman  at Digharkanda, had long been in dispute over contracts of the state-owned gas firm, Police OC Kamrul Islam said.

The two groups clashed at about 10:30pm on Saturday following the dispute.

Five people were shot during the clash.

One of them, ‘Shimul’, died after the wounded had been admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, the OC said.
