Gold bars hauled from Bangladesh Biman aircraft

Sixty gold bars have been found under a passenger seat of a Bangladesh Biman aircraft at Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport.

Airport Customs officials are yet to identify anyone involved.

A Customs Assistant Commissioner said the gold bars were found on a Biman aircraft arriving in Dhaka from Qatar. It had made a transit stop in Chittagong.

The bars weigh six kilograms in total and are worth Tk 30 million, said the Customs official, “We are trying to find the people involved in the smuggling.”
