The one-and-a-half-year old child, named Fahim, was caught in a fishing net in the Meghna on Sunday morning, said Haimchar UNO Sarwar Kamal.

Fahim was the son of Liton Hazi of Charbhairabi area in the Upazila.

“The body was handed over to the family later,” said Kamal.

The trawler, ‘MV Robin’, sank mid-river on Tuesday with about 50 passengers on board when it was hit by a cargo vessel.

Seven of the passengers—four children and three women—are still missing.
