Woman gives birth to two males, two female babies in Lakshmipur

A woman in Lakshmipur has given birth to quadruplets.

Kajal Akhter delivered four babies—two males and two females—at ‘Matri Chaya Hospital’ on Saturday night.

The newborns and the mother were under close observation and were doing fine, said hospital doctor Shamima Nasrin.

Kajal Akhter is the wife of Abdur Rahman of Lakshmipur’s Hyderganj village in the Raipur Upazila.

Shamima told bdnews24.com: “Kajal was admitted to the hospital at 4 pm on Saturday in the 37th week of her pregnancy. Doctors performed a caesarean to deliver the babies because of her convulsions.”

This was the first case of quadruplets being born to any woman in Lakshmipur, said hospital Director Abdur Rahman.

Kajal’s relatives are happy over the foursome addition to the family.

“We are happy to get two sons and two daughters together. Please pray for them,” the father told bdnews24.com.
