Two sisters have been reportedly raped by 11 people in Noakhali’s Sudharam Upazila.

Police said they have arrested the elder sister’s ‘boyfriend’, who had lured the girls into a paddy field at Noannooi Union’s Gorapur village in the Upazila on Thursday evening.
The arrestee has been identified as ‘Sumon’ of Ramkrishnapur village in the same Union.
Sudharam Model Police Station OC Anwar Hossain on Friday told bdnews24.com that Sumon was detained after the incident Thursday night. But his accomplices are on the run.
The elder sister lodged a rape case against 11 people including Sumon with Sudharam police Friday morning, he said.
The others are ‘Sujon’, ‘Jabed’, ‘Rony’, ‘Lutu’, ‘Mamun’, ‘Shakil’, ‘Rashed’, ‘Akbar’, ‘Riaz’ and ‘Helal’.
Quoting the complaint, Hossain said Sumon and the girl were into a relationship.
“Sumon and his 10 accomplices raped the girl and her younger sister after he had brought them to the paddy field at around 7pm Thursday,” the police officer said.
The locals rescued the girls at around 10pm and called police.
The OC said both girls were in police custody over security concerns and will be sent to Noakhali General Hospital on Saturday for medical examinations.
