The German embassy in Dhaka issued a statement on Monday when world leaders met in Paris to discuss climate change.
“Due to its geography and its demographics, Bangladesh is amongst the countries that are most prone to experience negative effects of global warming,” Prinz said in the statement.
“We are ready to assist Bangladesh in its endeavour to prepare for the impacts of climate change,” he added.
Prinz also said Germany showed its support through Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s visit to Bangladesh in September.
His French counterpart Laurent Fabius was with him during the visit.
“He (Steinmeier) got a fist-hand impression of the effects of global warming on a country like Bangladesh”, Prinz said.
