Three road crashes in Gazipur leave four people dead

Four people were killed in Gazipur on Tuesday in three separate road mishaps on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway and the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway.

A bus-truck collision in Kaliyakoir Upazila left two dead while road accidents in the Sadar Upazila left two others killed, said police.
 
Around 6:15am, a Dhaka bound bus collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on the highway connecting to Tangail in Kaliyakoir.
 
Gorhai police OC Humayun Kabir said the accident left a passenger of the bus dead on the spot and another died while being taken to hospital. At least five others have been injured.
 
Meanwhile, two people died in separate road mishaps on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway, said Mawna Highway Police OC Md Helal ul Islam.
 
Quoting witnesses, the police officer told bdnews24.com that a bus ran over a pedestrian—identified as Rajendra Barman— at Bhabanipur of Gazipur around 7am.
 
Around 5:30am, a Gazipur bound bus lost control and hit the road divider before overturning leaving the driver’s assistant killed, said OC Islam.
