The 14-year-old has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for medical examination after her father informed police.

The teacher, Hasan Khandaker, is currently on the run, Shyampur Police Station OC Sheikh Md Abdur Razzak told bdnews24.com.

He said the girl’s father came to the police station on Sunday night and informed them of the crime.

A case against Khandaker was being launched, Razzak said.

The student’s father told bdnews24.com he got his daughter admitted to that madrasa a month ago.

He said she went missing from there on Saturday. She was found at Sadarghat on Sunday afternoon.

Quoting her, the father said Khandaker lured her with the promise of marrying her and took her to Narayanganj. He raped her there.
Khandaker fled after leaving her at Sadarghat, he said.
The incident has taken place amid an outcry over a spate of such incidents in the past several months in Dhaka alone.
The gang-rape of a Garo woman on a moving microbus in the capital in May had sparked furore in Bangladesh.
The incident occurred soon after the sexual harassment of women on the Dhaka University campus in April during the Bangla New Year celebrations.
Barely two months later, a teenage girl was gang-raped in July 30 at Uttara.
Earlier this month, two other girls were also raped in the capital by their ‘friends’.
Four days ago, another woman was raped by a group of youths at Sabujbagh’s Nandiparha.
