Sylhet’s First Metropolitan Magistrate Shahedul Karim on Monday ordered arrest of Islam, Ahmed and Pavel Ahmed and impounding of their properties.

Jalalabad Police Station OC Aktar Hossain said they confiscated the brothers’ properties at their village home in Sheikhparha on Tuesday.

But until afternoon, there was no report of police seizing Pavel Ahmed’s properties in Sunamganj.

Dirai Police Station OC Anisur Rahman said they would confiscate his assets once the court orders reached them.

Samiul Alam Rajan, 13, was tied to a pole and beaten to death on theft charges on July 8 at Sylhet’s Kumargaon.

The killers recorded the incident on mobile phone and uploaded it on the internet, triggering a massive outcry in the social media.

Islam fled to Saudi Arabia a day after the killing, where he is currently in police custody.

Investigation Officer Suranjit Talukder pressed charges in court against 13 people on Aug 16, showing Islam detained in Saudi Arabia, and his brother Shamim Ahmed and Pavel Ahmed absconding.

Several of the accused have reportedly confessed to their crimes before the court.
