Abdul Hakim, 37, of Kishoreganj returned to Bangladesh on Friday from Saudi Arabia.

The gold bars were found in his bag after he collected it on Saturday afternoon from the airport’s Lost and Found section, said Customs Assistant Commissioner Md Riadul Islam.

Twelve bars, weighing 1.4 kilograms, were found inside his bag, he said.

Islam said, “We think he did not collect the bag earlier (on Friday) as he did not feel safe to smuggle out the gold bars from airport.”

Customs officials on Thursday nabbed a man returning from Dubai while he was trying to smuggle in Tk 3.5 million worth of gold bars concealed in his rectum.
