Six Pabna policemen suspended over bribery charges

Six policemen were suspended in Pabna after they allegedly asked for bribes.

Pabna’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Alamgir Kabir told bdnews24.com that the two sub-inspectors (SI) and four constables were removed from the Ishwardi Police station over bribery charges.
 
They are sub-inspectors Mohammad Asif and Md Anu, and constables Zillur Rahman, Mominul Islam, Mizanur Rahman and Anisur Rahman.
 
The six allegedly demanded bribe from a drug-peddler ‘Robi’ during a raid at Ishwardi Upazila’s Awtaparha, according to a police official.
 
Ishwardi police OC Biman Kumar Das told bdnews24.com: “Administrative compulsions necessiated their suspension."
