The foreign ministry sent its list to the home ministry on Monday for final identification, the official, who declined to be named for this report, told bdnews24.com.

The Bangladesh mission in Kuala Lumpur has prepared the list after getting consular access and preliminary verification.

Malaysia set up camps to shelter hundreds of refugees arriving on its shores by boat from the south.

There has been a surge in refugees arriving from mostly Myanmar to Malaysia and Indonesia following a crackdown on trafficking by Thailand, usually the first destination in the region's people-smuggling network.
