Polish ambassador meets foreign minister

Poland’s non-resident ambassador to Bangladesh Tomasz Lukaszuk has paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on Wednesday at the foreign ministry.

Based in New Delhi, Lukaszuk is currently visiting Dhaka.
 
Poland was the second Eu​​ropean country to recognise Bangladesh on Jan 12, 1972 soon after independence.
 
The foreign minister hoped that the bilateral relations particularly business ties would improve during Lukaszuk tenure.
 

He particularly stressed on exchange of knowledge and technical cooperation with Poland on coal-based projects.
The two-way trade was $618.4 million in 2013, an increase of 9 percent as compared to previous year. 
Bangladesh perceives Poland as a potential source of new technologies for the agricultural and food processing sector, and also mining, energy and shipbuilding industries.
