On Wednesday, Narayanganj police arrested six including three children with arms and ammunitions, said Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Sharfuddin.

The six were nabbed from the district’s Fatulla area and Dhaka’s Badda area.

Those arrested are ‘Imran’, 18, ‘Bashir’, 25 and Md Masud, 28. The identities of the minors are not published but they live in Badda area, according to police.

Four pistols, eight rounds of ammunition and seven magazines were found on them.

The gang contacted Fatulla Press Club President Syed Obayed Ullah to sell guns, who informed the police.

Imran along with two children were detained on Wednesday afternoon, when they came to make the deal at Fatulla.

A pistol and five rounds of ammunitions were found on them.

Based on his information, a raid was conducted at Dhaka’s South Badda area, when the rest were nabbed with three more pistols and ammunitions, ASP Sharfuddin told a media briefing Wednesday night.

“The children were a part of strategy to dodge police and detectives. That’s why the arms were carried in schoolbags.”
