Major (Retd) ATM Hamidul Hossain Tariq was the commander of a camp under Sector 7 and he was awarded the gallantry award - Bir Bikrom.
Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre will organise the talk as part of its guest lecture series on Thursday at its Gulshan auditorium at 5pm.
Minister for Liberation Affairs AKM Mozammel Huq will be present as chief guest, it says in a media release.
Born in 1951, Tariq joined the Liberation War at the age of 19 when he was a student.
He served in Bangladesh Army up to 1998.
After retirement, he joined Padma Oil Co.
