Ferry services resume

Ferry services between Mawa and Kewrakandi have resumed after being suspended for several hours due to dense fog.

The services, which remained suspended since 1:30am on Friday, resumed at 10am, BIWTC Mawa manager Sirajul Haq told bdnews24.com.

Five ferries had to be anchored in the middle of the Padma river to avoid accidents, he said.

Suspension of ferry services due to dense fog has been causing immense sufferings to the commuters for past several days.

Earlier during a spot visit, bdnews24.com correspondent had witnessed over 300 vehicles were stranded on both sides of the river as the ferry services came to a halt.
