Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has protested against the killing and called for a flag meeting.

Chuadanga 6 BGB Director Lt Col SM Moniruzzaman said the shooting had taken place near the Hariharnagar border in Jibannagar on Thursday afternoon.

A BSF patrol of Putkhali camp opened fire on three farmers working on the field.

Moshiur Rahman, 35, died while being taken to hospital.

Jamal Hossain, 28, and Abdul Aziz, 25, have been admitted to Jibannagar Health Complex.

They hail from Hariharnagar village.

Border killing has been a thorn in the bilateral relations. Local and international rights groups have dubbed the BSF "trigger happy".

The Indian border guards are widely accused of flouting human rights.
