Judge Ruhul Amin granted the interim bail on a bond of Tk 50,000 on Sunday when the couple surrendered to the court after an earlier bail expired, their lawyer Abul Kalam Azad said.

The High Court had given them a four-week bail on Nov 14.

Shamarukh was declared dead on Nov 13 after being taken to the Central Hospital from the ex-MP's Dhanmondi residence.

Her in-laws claimed she had committed suicide but her family blamed her husband Humayun Sultan Shadab and his parents for the ‘murder’.

Shamarukh’s father Nurul Islam accused the three in a murder case on Nov 13.

Both Sultan and his wife secured bail from High Court but their son is currently in custody.
Initial autopsy report said Shamarukh’s death was a case of suicide, but her family rejected it and moved court.
Islam alleged that the former MP from Jessore-5 and his doctor wife had influenced the autopsy report.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Bikash Kumar Saha later ordered another autopsy on the body after hearing a plea by the doctor’s father.
Her body was accordingly exhumed on Dec 1 for the second autopsy but the report is yet to be submitted to the court.
Shamarukh, 24, was married to Sultan's son two years ago and had been living at her father-in-law's house.
She was doing FCPS at the BSMMU after obtaining an MBBS degree from Holy Family Medical College, where her mother-in-law Jesmin is a doctor.
