13-year-old Mahin was on his way to a friend’s house when a speeding garbage truck hit him
Nurul Islam Sujon, quoted in several media reports that placed the former Awami League leader in court on Monday morning, said: “No client named Latif Siddique has contacted me.”
“I did not say that he was in the High Court. Those who have said it, did so on their own responsibility,” said the lawyer.
Former telecoms minister Siddique, axed from Cabinet and the Awami League, after saying he was opposed to Hajj, returned home in an Air India flight on Sunday night.
He has been accused of hurting religious sentiments in a flurry of cases filed across the country after he made the remark at a discussion in New York in September. There are also warrants out for his arrest.
