The outgoing ambassador is visiting districts to what he said, “take America to the people as well as to better understand the diversity of Bangladesh.”
The White House has already nominated Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat as his successor.
The US embassy spokesperson earlier said his tenure would end when his “successor is confirmed and ready to arrive in Bangladesh”.
Mozena presented his credential to the President on Nov 24, 2011.
He, however, said he had seen so much that he would tell the “incredibly positive” stories of Bangladesh back in his country.
USAID’s Mission Director Janina Jaruzelski will accompany him during the upcoming visit. During the tour they will meet local government officials, police superintendents, and civil society members.
They will also see some cultural and historical sites of the region.
