The embassy in a statement on Wednesday did not assign the reason for the change.
It asked non-immigrant visa applicants who plan to travel in September to apply and schedule an appointment at Saimon Overseas by Aug 31.
Applicants without a fee receipt cannot schedule an interview.
Those who do not have immediate travel plans may apply and pay the MRV fee at HSBC beginning Sept 14, the embassy said.
However, it asked those who previously received a visa to the US issued after Jan 1, 2008, to apply through its “drop box” program.
It also asked applicants to contact DhakaNIV@State.gov for further information, if needed.
